Silver Spring, Maryland/USA | 22.02.2006 | ANN/APD | International

Thousands of Christian clergy members from around the world -- from a variety of denominations -- are expected to unite in a global audience for "Here We Grow Again," a professional development seminar due March 21 from the Adventist Church's Ministerial Association. The broadcast will originate from the Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church in Takoma Park, Maryland (U.S.A.) and will commence at 1 p.m. (1800 hrs GMT).

Distinguished preachers will talk about the importance of spiritual growth centred on Bible study and exposition. The speakers for the half-day event are: Haddon W. Robinson, a Harold John Ockenga Distinguished Professor of Preaching at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, widely regarded as an expert in the area of preaching; Marguerite Shuster, a professor of preaching at Fuller Theological Seminary who has been on the faculty there since 1992; Roy Adams, an associate editor of the Adventist Review, who was the first candidate to finish a doctoral degree in Systematic Theology at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary; and William G. Johnsson, editor and executive publisher of the Adventist Review and editor of the new Adventist World magazine and a veteran theologian and teacher. Pastor Jan Paulsen, world president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and a veteran preacher, will offer a brief greeting at the start of the event.

"In offering this Ministry Professional Growth Seminar to [the] community [we hope] to help preachers and members of the clergy with their spiritual growth as well as their professional development," said Anthony R. Kent, associate secretary of the Ministerial Association.

This year's seminar will be available via satellite feed on various outlets of the Hope Channel, the Seventh-day Adventist Church's television network. The broadcast is free to churches and seminaries with satellite-receiving equipment. It will also be streamed through www.hopetv.org , and will be available on DVD. [Editor: Mark A.
